A Ladd brought all sorts of significance to the table against the Redwings. He made big plays on both ends of the ice surface today. Huet, on the other hand, was as weak as Ladd was impressive. Thanks to Ladd, the Frenchman only needed to be half the goaltender he’s capable of being. Even that was too much to ask, however. This situation needs attention. It’s not any individual loss that draws attention to the goalie issue in Chicago. This team has had plenty of time to review the audition tapes of these two keepers. One stands out as the model of inconsistency. The other stands out as hyper-skilled and even-keeled. Why is this seemingly obvious call so difficult to make?
Neat trick.
